View Full Version : Could I have the Wrong Rx in New Glasses?

I just got 2 new pairs of glasses. I'm nearsighted. Same prescription as the past 6 or so years. The sunglasses are GREAT! But the eyeglasses are making me feel like I'm drunk or something. Far-away objects are clear (as to be expected) but objects that are closer (within the range of what I can see clearly without the glasses) are distorted (not blurry) and my depth perception is way out of whack. I noticed this immediately when I tried the glasses on at the optometrist's office, but the technician said I just had to get used to them. He re-checked the prescription and my pupil distance and said they were fine.My question is, is it possible that I'm just imagining this? I've worn glasses since I was 12 and I've never experienced this before. What could be causing this?I just noticed that the glasses make my keyboard look quite small and far away...

I'd say get a second opinion from another eye doctor... can't really diagnose ya easily over the Internet, heh.
Maybe even DEMAND a new pair of glasses, there's always the chance someone along the line (i.e. doctor, lens crafter, cashier, etc) screwed up and gave you the wrong Rx on the glasses, since the sunglasses are doin' ya fine.
Whatever the case, if you're not adjusting easily to the glasses, something IS NOT RIGHT.

try getting the new prescription from your doctor so your sight are not like that, it can be the fact that your eyes are infected and need to change the glasses.

Definitely inform your optometrist about this... you could be doing a great deal of damage to your retina in the long term.
