I have a buddy who is allergic to stainless steel materials (they give him rashes with prolonged contact)....he has problems wearing watching and other jewelry with stainless steel in them.

Hes looking at picking up some new shades, but wants to know if anyone has ever had problems with sunglasses. Hes tried my shades on with no problems, but worries that with sweat and prolonged wear, his skin will be irritated. Any ideas on this? How about gold plated sunglasses, does the base stainless steel's allergic affect still affect the SS-allergic population?

There are options available for those with metal allergies. I believe titanium is a good material for those with allergic reactions towards stainless steel. Also, as far as I know, people who have problems with stainless steel also have problems with gold plated materials (at least with watch bands).

try not buying stainless sunglasses, some plastic sunglasses are fashionable and cool to wear, its good to wear them than having those allergies and irritation, you can waste more money in buying some reliever to that.
