Default Please help with adjusting extendable arms

I have an old pair of sunglasses that are just a bit too tight (it has wrap around ear loops) and it looks like they can be adjusted. I can push the arms in to make them smaller but I can't seem pull them out to make them larger. Is there some technique that I'm missing or is it as far out as it will go? One extra hole back would make them perfect.
