Hello, I have a question about the original Ray Ban Wayfarers. I have a pair of these glasses which I got from my dad (he originally got them in the 1980s). The model number is L2052. I am sure of the model number. And it also says B&L Ray Ban USA on the other side.

Anyway, what I want to know is if the new RB2140 model is the same as what I have? Specifically, I want to know if the lenses will be interchangeable for these two sunglasses. Is there any difference between L2052 and RB2140 (assuming both are 50mm)?

Ok, I've also just noticed that most websites that sell the vintage L2052 sunglasses online do not include a size in the description. This leads me to assume that they were all of uniform size. I'm guessing the size is 50mm? Am I right?


In case you haven't figured out the reason I'm asking these questions:
My frame (for my L2052) is kind of busted at this point and I want to replace it. However, buying the L2052 model is very expensive right now. So, I want to know if I can just buy the RB2140 model and swap the lenses. (The new RB2140 model comes with a brown lens whereas the original L2052 model came with a green lens and I like the green lens a lot better.)
