What do you think are the trends for this summer and beyond?

Looking at what the top brands have released and presented recently and comparing that with what celebrities are wearing right now, I've spotted the following:

- Aviators: are still here and are available in all sorts of designs, round, square, dark and bright colors;
- Wayfarer: Although Ray-Ban has released a 'New Wayfarer' 2132, a slightly smaller and rounder version of the 2140, most other new Wayfarer versions seem to be become more square (like the 4165 and Wayfarer versions by other brands;
- Round glasses: are becoming more and more in style, but for now only for women;
- Cat eye glasses: very fashionable right now, but also women only;
- Wrap arounds and sporty glasses: new versions are released but aren't worn a lot by celebrities or mainstream people right now;
- Gradiënt lenses are in, as well as more flashy colours like blue, but not some brands are choosing a more sober approach;
- Rectangular glasses are shown mostly on the catwalk in big and dark versions.

So it seems that almost anything is allowed this year! The only thing I've spotted going out of style are big logo's on big arms.

I'd love to hear if my observations are correct and where you think the trends are going next.

I agree with this...Avaitors are not going to lose popularity anytime soon in my opinion.

Wayfarers? The new takes on the traditional 2140 have ensured that this particular model will be as popular as ever.

I think round glasses are making a comeback although I think that they may be picked up by both sexes.

Gradient lenses are indeed going to be popular. You only have to look at some of the new Ray Ban offerings to see this.
