Cheaply-made sunglasses?
I've been looking around lately for a cheap pair of sunglasses (I rarely wear designer stuff anyways), and have looked into buying replicas on eBay. There are lot of cheap sunglasses on there, was looking at grabbing an RB3026 for $40 shipped.
Anyways, I heard it's dangerous to wear cheap fake sunglasses because the plastic/glass lens are much more prone to shattering since they use low quality materials. Is this true and is there actually potential that the shattered glass will go inward and make one go blind?

This is usually the case, but I've had waaaayyyyyy too many sunglasses smashed since my teenage years. I mean I'm sure a real Ray Ban is noticeably high quality than a fake, but sunglasses get lost/stolen/broken all the time so I don't know.
My local Sole Mio sunglass shop has a 50% off warranty, wherein if you break your sunglasses you can bring them in and they'll give you a new one for 50% off. Not bad!

I wouldn't buy fake sunglasses. There's absolutely NO QC when you purchase a pair of fakes from Thailand. Heck, the "plated", err, painted-gold frame sunglasses might have some traces of poisonous lead in it! Who are you going to sue when you develop some insane allergic reaction to it?
Stick to authentic. Plus, people will call you out and that won't be any fun.

Not all cheap sunglasses are created equal. We have been selling them for nearly 5 years now, and yes I have seen my share of junk. However, there are some low-cost brands that offer decent quality at an affordable price. Two brands that come to mind are X-Loop and DG.

Don't mess around
Those are your eyes man, and you only get one pair. Look at it as an investment in your health and future and don't skim. If you wear prescription lenses, you could probably get a pretty sweet pair of shades paid for by insurance.

I believe it's true. cheap products means cheap quality. Don't take the risk of buying cheap, knock-offs if your own eyes will be the consequence. Buy the best quality as you can.

Not all sunglasses with a cheap price has a low quality.. In buying, you must know how to observe.. Or better buy a branded one for insurance that the sunglasses you bought have a high quality..
